Cybersecurity

Modern ICTs are enabling businesses of all sizes and sectors to innovate, reach new markets and drive efficiencies that benefit customers and society. Yet, many businesses adopt these tools without fully realizing that new types of risks must be managed. ICC is working closely with businesses and policy makers to share best practices and advocate for a secure and inclusive online environment where businesses can seize new opportunities while effectively mitigating risks.

Artificial Intelligence

Artificial intelligence (AI) is an umbrella term that covers a number of new technologies that are creating tremendous opportunities for business and society as well as significant challenges. In order to maximise the benefits of these technologies, ICC is encouraging multistakeholder collaboration and the development of human-centric and trustworthy AI technologies. ICC is also calling for policies that facilitate the global movement of data, which is critical for the development of AI systems.

Data governance

The amount and variety of data that companies generate and use has increased dramatically in recent years. Data has become pervasive. This is creating new opportunities for data-driven innovation and growth as data becomes the lifeblood of economic development. ICC is looking to promote an enabling environment where the free-flow of data between stakeholders and across borders will support business innovation and growth while also ensuring sufficient levels of data protection and privacy.

Online content
The Internet has had a considerable impact on the social and economic fabric of modern society, offering new ways to communicate and to conduct business. Yet, the Internet has also become a vehicle for illegal and harmful content. As policy makers increasingly look to strike the right balance, ICC is encouraging multistakeholder collaboration and actively sharing business views to maximise the social and economic benefits of the Internet.
